Security Labeling

Overt countermeasures:

  • Holographic images to help identify your products.
  • Tamper-evident labels and seals for your products.
  • Patterned adhesive labels.

Covert countermeasures:

  • Invisible inks that can be read using black light for manual identification.
  • Invisible inks that can be read by UV light in conjunction with scanning equipment for automated packaging lines.
  • Incorporating Microtrace’s Microtaggant technology into the label design to give your product a code that cannot be duplicated, identifying your particular product and company.
    • Microtaggants are applied to your product in the ink or an overcoat.
    • Microtaggants range in size from 20 - 80 microns.
    • Microtaggants are colored layers where each color represents a number; together the layers form a unique code for your product.
  • Product identification or authentication can be made using three quick and different methods:
    • A handheld device which provides an audible beep when the code is present.
    • UV or black light to see a layer that fluoresces.
    • A handheld magnification tool to read the code.
