What type of product surface is being labeled (round, flat, contoured)?

For example, an irregularly contoured surface can make a line speed difference in efficiently applying your label to the product.



 

What is the construction of the product surface?

Selecting the correct label adhesive assures maximum bonding of the label to the product surface

 

What is the application environment (cold, hot, wet)?

Some environments create unique challenges, for example some products have hot material filled into the product container and immediately frozen for storage until used.

What is the size and construction of the label material?

Sometimes with auto label applications, the label size relative to the product surface shape and size must be considered.

 

Are the labels predispensing on the applicator?

Where on the labels predispensing? Check for tension on unwind and/or tackiness of the adhesive.

What is the label application process run speed (labels/min)?

If the label application process run speed is not closely synched to the speed of the product handling equipment.
